Clinical

Luk has a vast experience in reproductive medicine and treats all causes of male and female infertility in a holistic way.

He is the Group Medical Director of Monash IVF Group and has been affiliated with the world-leading group since 1999. 

He offers microsurgery for the reversal of tubal ligations and vasectomies. He also has a special interest in advanced laparoscopic techniques, in particular the management of severe endometriosis.

He operates at the Epworth Hospital (Richmond and Hawthorn), and Monash Surgical Private Hospital (Clayton).

He also holds an appointment as the Head of Reproductive Medicine at Monash Health (Monash Medical Centre, Clayton), where he sees public patients in the Reproductive Medicine Clinic on Tuesdays.

Research

Prof Rombauts is the Research Director of Monash IVF.

Luk also holds an appointment as Adjunct Clinical Professor in the Dept. of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Monash University and is a Research Fellow of the Hudson Institute of Medical Research.

He is also the Clinical Research Director of the Endometriosis Care Centre of Australia (ECCA).

Luk's main research interest are endometriosis and embryo implantation.  He also is developing new treatment regimes to improve the outcome of IVF.
His research is funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council and by Monash IVF.

He has published several books, book chapters, and over 100 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. Click here to find out more about his published work.

Teaching

Luk is accredited by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists as a training supervisor for the CREI.

He is an examiner for medical students and CREI subspecialist trainees. 

Boards

Prof Rombauts is the President of the Fertility Society of Australia and the President of the World Endometriosis Society. He is also a trustee of the World Endometriosis Research Foundation.

He is a past member of the RANZCOG Research Grants and Scholarships Committee. Luk is also a member of the Monash Research and Education Foundation on which he serves as the Research Director.

Luk served as Associate Editor for Human Reproduction, the highest ranking medical journal publishing original research in the field of reproduction from 2013-2017.
